Frequently asked questions

Multistreaming, capture cards, and camera conflicts — answered.

Can I go live on Douyin and WeChat Channels at the same time?

Yes, and you do not need a capture card. Crosslive turns one camera into several virtual cameras — pick one in Douyin Live Companion and another in the Channels tool, and both platforms go live from the same camera at once.

Why do other platforms lose the camera once Douyin Live Companion is running?

Douyin Live Companion opens the camera exclusively, so no other streaming tool can access it. Windows 11's multi-app camera switch is off by default and cannot override that. The fix is to output one physical camera as several virtual cameras, one per platform.

Do I need a multi-output capture card?

No. What a multi-output capture card actually does — splitting one signal across several streaming tools — can be done in software, and Crosslive's multistreaming feature is free forever. You still need a capture card if you want to bring a phone or camera signal into the PC.

Is multistreaming against platform rules?

Same-source simultaneous streaming is not what platforms crack down on — the picture is the host's own live feed, simply delivered to several platforms at once. What platforms do target is rebroadcasting other people's content and unattended or pre-recorded streams.
